If you pick anything But overnight we don't Guarantee

Because cheese is a perishable product, we take great care to package and ship our cheese in a manner that guarantees freshness. Make sure someone will be home to receive and refrigerate your package upon its arrival. If no one is usually home during the day, consider shipping your orders to your place of business. 

Due to the perishable nature of our cheese,  we use special insulation and gel ice as needed. We try to ship orders on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to prevent our cheese from sitting on a truck over a weekend and to ensure safe delivery.

When will my order arrive?

We try to get all orders out the door as fast as possible. Typically this means 1-3 business days to process. Around major holidays, it may take up to 5 business days for your order to leave our warehouse. You will receive an email with tracking information as soon as your order is picked up by the shipping carrier. In some cases, it can take up to 24 hours for the tracking number to update and show movement. 

Please note: To avoid weekend transit delays, orders placed after 10:30am MT on Tuesday with 2-Day shipping, will ship on Monday of the following week.

We Don't ship to APO/FPO address at this time. 

Cheese Curds & Grilling Cheese - Order Monday Morning!

Ballard Cheese Curds and Grilling Cheese are made fresh to order and need to be ordered by 10:30 am MT on Monday.  Monday orders will normally be shipped on Tuesday and delivered by Friday.

Monday Pick Up orders will be available at the Ballard Farm on Tuesday afternoon.

Hard Cheeses

Our hard cheeses can usually be picked up at the farm or shipped 24 hours after ordering.

Gifts and Shipping to Multiple Addresses

During check out, you will be given the option to "Ship to multiple addresses." This is a convenient feature when you want to send the same gift to multiple addresses. 

Gift Message Greetings

During checkout, you will be given the option to create a gift message. We will relay your special greeting exactly as you wish. Type in your message in the comments section on your order form, and we will include the message with your gift.

Shipping & Handling

Shipping and Handling charges are based on total weight for each shipping address. Please check your address carefully. We cannot extend our guarantee to orders for which we are given an incorrect delivery address. An additional charge may be incurred if the address is corrected and delivery made.

If your order is placed by mail or through our websites, it may not be entered into our system the same day. Ask for specifics of shipping when placing your order if in question.

Substitution Policy

In the event a certain gift item is out of stock, we reserve the right to substitute a similar product of an equal or greater value.

If you entered a wrong shipping address and your package has shipped, we are happy to contact shipping company and do our best to reroute your package. Please note, however, that we will not assume responsibility for any incorrect addresses provided to us. In the event that the package can be rerouted in transit, delivery, return and re-delivery charges will apply. We also will not assume responsibility for time-in-transit damage due to address errors.

We are unable to replace items that perish due to the recipient being unavailable at the time of delivery. Our boxes are clearly marked “perishable” on the outside and we are not responsible for the items received but not opened. Please make sure that you or your recipient will be in town on the date that your order is due to arrive.

We do everything possible to ship according to schedule, but are not responsible for deliveries that are delayed due to weather or "acts of God."
